Magnetic Couplings
Quadrant Technology manufactures vacuum couplings for any application. Vacuum couplings allow the rotary or linear manipulation of parts within a
vacuum to eliminate the introduction of contaminants in a manufacturing process. Traditional mechanical manipulation requires contact through the
barrier wall, which in turn requires a seal. (A seal that often proves insufficient within a high vacuum environment.) With a vacuum coupling,
all the manipulation can be done externally with magnetic fields, which means there are no breaches in the wall of the manufacturing chamber.
Consequently, there is no chance of seal failure and resultant contamination.
The same principle applies in our manufacture of custom pump couplings. Our custom-designed pump couplings allow materials such as corrosive
chemicals to be manipulated stirred and pumped with magnetic fields instead of physical contact. This eliminates the need for a physical seal,
which could fail and allow the corrosive chemical to leak.
Quadrant holds patents on innovative coupling designs that allow for a 75% increase in torque over traditional designs. Conversely, The coupling
size can be greatly decreased which saves on material costs and startup torque requirements arising from mass.
